Shipping Information
Business/commercial address assumes the following:
1) A location that is not in a residential area, typically if there is a residential house at the
same address as the business it will be charged as a residential delivery. This is FedEx policy not Tom’s
2) A location with normal business hours that are listed and publicly available.
3) Room for a semi truck to come and go as well as park to be unloaded.
4) A loading dock or a forklift available to facilitate unloading. Lift gate service is an additional fee.
This is FedEx policy not Tom’s.
5) Farms and construction sites are generally charged as limited access.
6) Any charges incurred while delivery is being attempted i.e., re- delivery fees, unexpected residential
delivery fees, lift gate fees, etc. are solely the responsibility of the customer.
This list is not all inclusive of FedEx guidelines on what constitutes a business delivery.
Generally if you google an address and a business name comes up it is good to go, if it comes up
Zillow or Realtor dot com, it will be classified residential. Sounds weird but that is what I have been told by
folks at FedEx is their first test to determine business vs residential.
Shipments can also be picked up at a FedEx terminal. There are many locations in most states and this has been
a good option for many customers. They will call you when it arrives and they will hold it for a few days on your
behalf. There is no additional charge for this option. It also will not typically save any money on a shipment.
