Trackhoe Thumb – Hydraulic Thumbs for Trackhoes
Trackhoe thumbs come in three types: hydraulic, fixed and mechanical. Sometimes called a bucket thumb or a bucket clamp, the attachment is still the same. Only the name is different. Hydraulic thumbs are are you would expect, controlled by a hydraulic cylinder while mechanical or fixed thumbs require the operator to set the thumb into a fixed position on the stick by manually placing it where he wants it then locking it into place.
Most trackhoe manufacturers such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, Komatsu, and IHI do not make their own attachments so they hire companies like us to build them for them. We have built literally thousands of attachments such as quick couples, buckets and thumbs for all major brands of trackhoes.
Since we build each trackhoe thumb to order we do not have a lot of inventory sitting around taking up space. This means that we are not paying a lot of money to store large implements and steel and we can pass the savings onto our customers. Give us a call to see what we can build for you!
